Phaenomen Granit 25H

35th scale resin Granit

Original:

Phaenomen is legendary for it's Granit 25H, the most numerous "Kfz. 31 Ambulance" in the German army 1937-1945

Model: Ton Rijnberk's Scaleline resin kit is a vintage release of ca 1990

Build: In January 2020 we visited twenot's honorary member Jan van Veen. This rare beast was one of the last 35th scale models Jan had kept. He had placed yellow sheets of plastic to blind the windows. That pulled the total picture down. Jan's solid build and nice paint should stay, so, I carefully took it apart to replace the windows. All traces of years and the window update have only been touched up. May 2020 its ready. Time to brush of my vacu 25H project

A compare of the model with the real vehicle. Front fenders way too boxy and short, the roof is way too flat. Most dimensions are off. Biggest mistake: de drivers compartment and with that the door is much too narrow. And yes it looks like a Phänomen Granit 25H, but it's not an acurate model.

New windows, including a thin sheet of mat white for the milky effect of the windows in the rear, and a mesh to mimic the sheet mesh on the windows.
