An sd.Kfz. Famo

sd.Kfz. 9 "Famo"

Original: The standard workhorse of the German "Instandsetzung". The guys that haul broken down tanks and other heavy equipment and fix it. Famo of Breslau was a pioneer in tractors on tracks. They made the biggest ever. Sonder Kraftfahrzeug 9.

Model: 35th scale, Tamiya, straight from the box.

Build: November 17 / 19 2024. In a huge collection of German armour, all unpainted, some well build, some less, this Famo, one of my favorites, seems ok build. Let's brush it up.

A little challenge for me: can I fix it without beefing it up, improving the kit. After inspection of all fitting and parts, tracks off. Some 6 track links are glued solid. 1 is replaced (that's what spares are for). Re-attaching some broken parts and all is clean enough for a spraypaint and re-attaching of tracks, window (one sheet replaced because of glue stains) and toughing up paint of tracks, wheels etc. A little wash to gain some depth. A little dust on the sides and nailed it. Actually straight from the box.
