A rivited ambulance 251.
With the replacing of the vehicles on the "bridge too far" diorama, I swept away a Tamiya 251. A rivited /C version. Too my suprise when I processed it at home, it turned out to be a Dragon kit! It has been a long time since I gave 251 modells much thought. Never knew there was a rivited /C ! It has been build rather crude, but I'm used too repair things..... And a dream from 40 years ago becomes a plan. The Bovington rivited ambulance 251.

Disaster strikes at the photo shoot. One of the lamps dislikes my /8. Bang. And we're back a few steps.

Top and bottom hul are seperated and cleaned. Filler for a lot of scratches and old glue. The suspention is wrong. The builder swapt the left and right tension wheel. The rear section has a problem that makes the fenders stand out wrongly. So they got cut of and filled. The gap from the floor tot the armour is fixed and the armoured sheet replaced. All fixtures that don't belog to the /8 are stripped, a Tamiya watertank that wil stand above the gearbox and the rear doors releaved from the broken hinges. Metal rods to make them mobile. Allmost done! Some sanding and the fixtures for the strechers. Hilary Doyle helps with some pointers on what was possible then. A swap of a base pain and pictures to check the details.
