Sequin island

In 1919 Louis Renault bought the island when he already had factories on both banks. In the 1930's it was the face of the company. It grew into a self supporting town of car manufactoring. In 2005 the buildings where demolished. Sequin island in the Seine is becoming a place for arts, but used to be a formidable factory. Holy ground to Renault fans. Hope to visit there once.
