This part of the Blitz history is a bit like no-mans's land. The civilial 3 tonner was drafted into the Wehrmacht soon, It's little brother was always reguarded a civilian vehicle. Special bodies for the fire department, delivery van's and command vehicle's are numerous though. Busses are scarce before the war, but are popular after the war. Opel builds the 1.5 ton chassis upto 1955, so remaining 1.5 tonners are ususlly post war products. Busses ususally have an easier tracable history. In fact, some of the German coach builders restarted their buisnesses after the war with cabriolet's and 1.5 tonners.
Information about these busses is sparse.
Kind of inbetween a truck and a bus, but they look very nice.
| War time ambulance line up. (Notice the 1 tonner Blitz on the left) | A courtyard full of ambulances. Must be a hospital. |
I know, no I'm crossing the line outside of the bus theather. No problem, there build by coachbuilders that could have build busses.
